Tactilus® Wheelchair Activity Monitor (WAM) sensor system and software is specifically designed to allow the manufacturer, retailer or outfitter to measure pressure distribution and magnitude between the patient and the seating surface.
The WAM is the most economical, scientific and user-friendly pressure mapping system available today. With the designing-for-comfort™ predictive capabilities of Tactilus Wheelchair Activity Monitor (WAM) software we take comfort measurement to the next level. Surface pressure mapping is particularly beneficial for analysis of obese, geriatric, diabetic and lowmobility patients in identifying restricted blood flow from imbalanced pressure distribution which is the primary cause of decubitus ulcers (bed sores). Pressure sores result from temperature build up at the skin surface of the patient and the only way to safely prevent this is to pressure map the patient to ensure they are not lying in one position without movement for too long a period of time.
Tactilus Technology: Tactilus is a matrix based tactile surface sensor. Essentially an "electronic skin" that records and interprets pressure distribution and magnitude between any two contacting or mating surfaces and assimilates that data collected into a powerful Windows® based software. Each Tactilus sensor is carefully assembled to exacting tolerances and individually calibrated and serialized. Tactilus employs sophisticated mathematical algorithms that intelligently separate signal from noise, and advanced electronic shielding techniques to maximize environmental immunity to noise, temperature and humidity. Our proprietary sensor design ensures the most robust sensor in the industry - an investment that will sustain thousands of uses.
Wheelchair Activity Monitor Software
WAM sensor and charging cable
Movement Counter
It counts the number of
movements made by
the person in the wheelchair,
following the counsel
of the therapist and the
objectives set.
Detection of mispositioning
It identifies abnormal pressure
points in the wheelchair and
sends an alert to the user's
smartphone.
Calculation of time spent in
the wheelchair
It counts the real time sitting
in the chair, sends an alert and
analyzes it day by day.
Customizable Alerts
Alerts are fully customizable
according to individual needs.
Referencing a Caregiver
It is possible to reference a
caregiver who will receive
information and alerts by text
message when you wish.
History and Statistics
It records, stores and analyzes
all information. It allows the
user to share it with a third
party.
