Electrical/Materials Engineer Position Available
We are a small rapidly growing entrepreneurial engineering/high-technology company located in Madison, NJ seeking an Electrical or Materials Engineer for an immediate opening. We are a world leader in the niche market of tactile surface sensors – sensors that measure physical contact between two objects. This job will expose the candidate to a myriad of industries and applications in the engineering world ranging from complex aerospace projects to medical device products.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, building and testing circuitry that captures, clarifies and interprets signals generated from our surface pressure mapping sensors. Additionally the candidate will be involved in development, assembly, testing and troubleshooting of matrix arrays of our sensors.
The ideal candidate will be highly resourceful and independent minded and possess the ability to execute projects often with minimal guidance. Very strong mathematical and analytical skills and particularly any experience with curve-fitting and image analysis are highly desired.
Applicant should have knowledge of capacitive and resistive sensor fundamentals and strain gauges. Experience or strong knowledge of image analysis and RF technology will also be highly beneficial. Candidate must possess experience with digital oscilloscopes, and signal generators, breadboard design and buildup, and circuit design software. Skills in C++ and/or Visual Basic are highly relevant. Knowledge of Matlab and Labview are desirable. Familiarity with Spice, CPLD (or FPGA), and Microcontroller programming is also necessary.
Educational requirements:
PHD (completed or Underway) in electrical or materials engineering (or Masters degree at a minimum).
